Sri Lanka and New Zealand are ready to take on each other in yet another fascinating game of cricket where the match winner will find itself with South Africa in the semifinals. The match is just about to begin and is scheduled to start at 19:30 local time.

New Zealand boast of their in-form batsmen and will be looking to post a big total on the board today. Guptill, Williamson and McCullum are in the firing line at the top and are getting runs for the New Zealanders on consistent basis. Ross Taylor is another in-form batsman who played a brilliant knock against South Africa and will have to play a crucial role in today’s match as well. A big total will be a must for New Zealand today considering the way Sri Lankan batsmen played in the last match against England and if they manage to achieve something big then they will certainly increase their chances to qualify for the semifinals. New Zealand’s bowling will depend on McClenaghan, Aderson, Boult and Mills once again. If Mills provides them with early breakthroughs then it will be best for the team’s cause.

As far as the Sri Lankans are concerned, their off color batsmen, Dilshan and Jayawardene, got runs in the important last match and will have to play big innings even today against New Zealand. But Kusal Perera will be the key for them at the top order. The worry for Sri Lanka is Sangakkara’s form, however, as he has not been getting runs for last few matches and his form will be crucial if Sri Lanka proceeds to the next stage as well. Mathews and Perera are firing towards the bottom of the innings and their contribution will be important in today’s match as well. The difference in today’s match will be made by the Sri Lankan spinners, however. New Zealanders are not too good when it comes to handling spin and this certainly signifies the job of Senanayake and Mendis in today’s match. Kulasekara and Malinga will also have a job at hand.
